In this romantic tale, Petsch plays Veronica, a diligent student who is determined to resist the allure of college heartthrob Caleb, portrayed by Casalegno. Their paths cross in a chance encounter that ignites a powerful attraction. As Veronica grapples with her painful past, she finds herself moving into Caleb’s home, where their relationship deepens amidst the unfolding of secrets. The film promises a compelling narrative of “love and betrayal” as described in its promotional materials.

International Distribution and Production Team

The production team includes Greg Silverman and Grant Torre of Stampede Ventures, along with David Madden and Jason Goldberg from Webtoon Productions. International sales for the film are being handled by Mister Smith Entertainment, which has secured various distribution deals. Amazon Prime Video has acquired the film for several territories, including the U.K., Canada, Australia/New Zealand, France, and Benelux. Other rights have been sold to Capelight in Germany, Leone Film Group in Italy, and Sun/Diamond for Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and South Africa, among others.

The popularity of the original webnovel is significant, with 261 million reads, making it the second most-read English-language title on Wattpad. The story has also been adapted into a Webtoon comic, which has amassed 24 million views, and has been published both as a print novel by Sourcebooks and a graphic novel by Webtoon Unscrolled.

Cast and Crew Background

Petsch is well-known for her role as Cheryl Blossom on the CW series Riverdale. She also produced and starred in the Amazon romantic comedy Maintenance Required alongside Jacob Scipio. Her filmography includes a role in Lionsgate’s reboot of The Strangers, with the third chapter set to release next year. Recently, she completed filming Killer Films’ Pretty Babies, directed by Tyler-Marie Evans.

Casalegno gained recognition for his role as Jeremiah Fisher in Amazon Prime Video’s acclaimed series The Summer I Turned Pretty, based on the novels by Jenny Han.
