UPDATE: Renowned chef and television personality Guy Fieri has been rushed to the hospital following a severe on-set injury while filming his latest show, Flavortown Food Fight. The incident occurred when the 57-year-old star “slipped down a set of steps,” resulting in a catastrophic tear of his quad muscle.

Fieri explained to Fox News Digital that during the fall, one foot went forward while the other got caught, leading to an injury described by doctors as unprecedented in their experience. “The doctor said he hadn’t seen an injury like this in the ‘biggest, thickest’ part of the leg in 20 years,” Fieri revealed. He underwent immediate surgery to prevent the muscle from receding, highlighting the seriousness of the situation for both him and the production team.

With 125 people on set and ready to film, Fieri emphasized the need to adapt creatively. “We figured out how to pivot through it,” he said. Since the accident, he has been getting around with the help of crutches and a wheelchair. “I have to stay off it,” he stated. “I can’t walk on it for eight weeks.”

As Fieri recovers, he is focused on rehabilitation and hopes to begin it “as fast as possible” after getting a cast. He did not specify the exact date of the injury but admitted that it was a significant setback, stating, “It sucked” and was a “damper” on production.

In a light-hearted moment, Fieri shared that his eldest son, Hunter, is stepping up this Thanksgiving, humorously texting his father, “It’s my time to shine.” Fieri also noted that his younger son, Ryder, and nephew, Jules, are capable cooks, indicating that the family is rallying around him during this challenging time.

Fieri’s commitment to his family is evident as he prepares to quarterback from his wheelchair for a gathering of around 40 people this Thanksgiving. He and his wife, Lori Fieri, whom he married in 1995, have instilled strong work ethics in their sons, vowing not to leave them any inheritance unless they earn two degrees.

As fans and followers await further updates on Fieri’s recovery, his resilience and positive outlook serve as a reminder of the strength of family and community support. More news on his condition and the status of Flavortown Food Fight is expected as the situation develops. Stay tuned for updates on this unfolding story.
