Miracles on Main Street will return to Madison County on December 6, 2023, marking its tenth anniversary with a festive celebration that includes a parade, vendor booths, and holiday lights. The event promises to spread the joy of Christmas, with a special appearance by Santa Claus as part of the grand finale.

Parade Plans and Activities

The parade is set to begin at 18:00 from Rockwall Park, located near the town pool. Participants will travel up South Main, loop around the courthouse, and continue along West Main before returning to Rockwall. According to event organizer Sarakas, this year’s parade is expected to be the largest yet, with a growing list of participants and elaborate floats.

“We are expecting a bigger parade than ever before,” Sarakas stated. “We have a large list of participants already, and more coming in every day. We are expecting some very detailed floats this year.”

Floats entering the competition must arrive by 17:00 for judged entries and by 17:40 for non-judged entries. Notably, no float may feature Santa, as he will lead the parade as a special surprise finale, sending wishes of “Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.”

Family-Friendly Festivities

Before the parade, families can enjoy a variety of activities. Santa will be available for photographs from 15:00 to 17:00, with parents encouraged to take their own pictures at no cost. Children can also meet beloved characters such as Disney princesses, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and Olaf.

Additional activities will include Polar Express rides, a petting zoo, stocking and ornament decorating, a scavenger hunt, an ugly sweater contest, and both a marshmallow and cookie decorating contest. The event aims to be a lively gathering for the community, inviting participants to dress as characters and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

This year, Sarakas has extended an invitation to local businesses to help illuminate Azalea Park with winter holiday-themed displays. These displays must be installed by December 5 and removed before January 10.

With a mix of traditional festivities and community engagement, Miracles on Main Street is poised to make its tenth celebration a memorable occasion for families and friends in Madison County.
