Shrek 5 Casts Comedy Legends as Shrek and Fiona’s Sons
The upcoming animated sequel, Shrek 5, has officially cast two renowned comedic actors to voice the sons of Shrek and Princess Fiona. Marcello Hernández and Skyler Gisondo will portray Fergus and Farkle, respectively, further expanding the beloved franchise. The announcement was made during the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, where an impressive Shrek balloon captivated the audience.
Hernández and Gisondo will take on the roles of two-thirds of Shrek and Fiona’s triplets, who were first introduced in Shrek the Third. Their sister, Felicia, will be voiced by the talented Zendaya. This casting choice highlights the film’s commitment to combining established talent with fresh voices.
Returning to the franchise are the iconic voices of Mike Myers as Shrek, Cameron Diaz as Fiona, and Eddie Murphy as Donkey. This ensemble promises to deliver the humor and charm that fans have come to expect from the series.
As for the film’s storyline, specific details remain under wraps. However, it will be directed by Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn, with a script penned by Michael McCullers. The film was initially slated for release on July 1, 2026, but has faced multiple postponements and is now expected to hit theaters on June 30, 2027.
The anticipation surrounding Shrek 5 continues to build, and fans are eager to see how this new chapter will unfold. As updates regarding the plot and additional cast members emerge, audiences can expect more exciting news in the lead-up to the film’s release.
