BREAKING: Studio Zag has just announced an exciting collaboration with former Formula 1 driver Carmen Jorda to launch the animated feature film titled “Car Men.” This groundbreaking project, set in the exhilarating world of women’s motorsports, aims to empower young audiences with themes of resilience and ambition.

In a statement released today, Jeremy Zag, co-creator of the blockbuster franchise “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir,” confirmed that the film will not only be an animated feature but also a comprehensive franchise that includes live experiences and consumer products. The initiative is designed to resonate with Gen Z and highlight the struggles and triumphs of female racers.

The film will depict Jorda’s journey as she navigates the high-stakes racing universe, facing challenges of doubt, pressure, and heartbreak. The synopsis emphasizes that “Carmen must push beyond her limits to reclaim her dream and discover who she truly is.” This narrative is set to inspire millions of young girls worldwide.

“I want them to know they can dream big, fight hard, and take their place on the track — just like I did,” Jorda stated. Her unique background as the 11th woman in history to join a prestigious F1 team underscores the film’s motivational message.

The project has attracted high-profile producing partners, including Michael Gracey, known for “The Greatest Showman,” and Tyler Thompson from Cross Creek Pictures, who has produced acclaimed films like “Black Swan.” Additionally, Andrea Puig, a former executive from HBO Max and Netflix, is on board as executive producer, emphasizing the film’s potential broad appeal.

Gracey praised Jorda’s story as one of “resilience and unwavering self-belief,” stating, “It’s a privilege to let them guide our narrative – and hopefully inspire the generation discovering her.”

Puig echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of sharing a female story driven by grit and ambition. “Being able to share a female story driven by grit, speed, and ambition with the world is a dream come true,” she said.

As women in motorsports gain visibility, this project follows the trend set by Reese Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine, which created a docuseries about female drivers of the Formula 1 Academy, recently featured on Netflix.

Zag is also actively developing a sequel to the successful “Miraculous Ladybug & Cat Noir,” which grossed over $40 million at the box office in Europe and streamed successfully on platforms like Netflix in the U.S. and Canada.

This new venture signifies a pivotal moment in storytelling, combining the thrill of sports with the empowerment of young women. As the project progresses, audiences can expect to see more updates on “Car Men.” Keep an eye out for this inspiring animated feature that is set to redefine representation in motorsports.
