Civil Suit Against UFC Star Conor McGregor Dropped Immediately
BREAKING: A civil lawsuit alleging that UFC star Conor McGregor sexually assaulted a woman at an NBA game has been officially dropped. This urgent development unfolded in U.S. District Court on Wednesday, as the alleged victim voluntarily filed for dismissal of the case.
The lawsuit, which accused McGregor of sexual battery during a Miami Heat game at the Kaseya Center in June 2023, was dismissed after the woman, described as a 49-year-old business executive, submitted a notice of voluntary dismissal with prejudice. This means no further litigation can be pursued regarding the alleged incident. The plaintiff had initially filed the suit against McGregor and the Miami Heat on January 14, 2023.
Authorities confirmed that the Florida State Attorney’s Office did not pursue criminal charges in this matter. McGregor, 37, has consistently denied all allegations against him. The lawsuit detailed that McGregor and the woman began conversing in the Courtside Club at the Kaseya Center before he allegedly escorted her to the men’s restroom, where the incident took place.
This dismissal follows McGregor’s previous legal troubles; last year, he was found liable for a separate sexual assault case from 2018 in the Ireland High Court and was ordered to pay the victim €248,000 (approximately $257,000). His appeal against that verdict was denied.
McGregor has not competed in mixed martial arts since suffering a broken leg in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. He has expressed a strong desire to return to the octagon, eyeing the UFC’s White House card in June as a potential comeback.
As this story develops, the implications of the lawsuit’s dismissal may resonate with fans and followers of McGregor, who continues to be a polarizing figure in the sports world. Stay tuned for more updates on this urgent situation.
