Paddy Pimblett “Knocked Out” in Exhibition, Inspires Community
URGENT UPDATE: UFC lightweight star Paddy Pimblett has just delivered a memorable moment in Liverpool, England, by playfully getting “knocked out” during a boxing exhibition against amateur boxer George Goetzee. This heartwarming event took place at the No Limits Boxing Club, where Pimblett took a break from his rigorous training camp in preparation for his upcoming interim lightweight title fight against Justin Gaethje on January 24, 2024.
As Goetzee, who has Down syndrome and is affectionately nicknamed “The Real GGG,” showcased his boxing skills, he landed a surprising right hand that sent Pimblett to the canvas. The referee quickly halted the bout, declaring Goetzee the winner by knockout. The ring announcer excitedly proclaimed, “The referee calls a halt to this contest with the red corner [Pimblett] in no condition to continue, and therefore your winner by KO, and still undefeated: The Real GGG!”
The event was more than just a boxing match; it was a celebration of community spirit and inclusivity. After the bout, Pimblett lifted Goetzee onto his shoulders, parading him around the ring to the cheers of the audience, leaving an emotional impact on everyone present.
