Redwood City Tragedy: Man Dies After Fatal Shooting of Wife
URGENT UPDATE: A man involved in a tragic domestic shooting in Redwood City has died from self-inflicted injuries he sustained after allegedly killing his wife. The incident occurred early Sunday morning, and police confirmed the man’s death on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Authorities identified the couple as Armando Madrigal Barajas Jr. and Denise Alessan Madrigal Martinez, both aged 36, and residents of Redwood City. This shocking event has left the community reeling, as details emerge about their troubled marriage.
Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Seaport Boulevard shortly after midnight on Sunday. A security guard reported a suspicious vehicle, prompting police to investigate. Upon arrival, they discovered Armando in the driver’s seat and Denise in the front passenger seat, both unconscious and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the head.
Denise was pronounced dead at the scene, while Armando was transported to a nearby hospital. Despite initial hopes for survival, his injuries were deemed nonsurvivable, and he never regained consciousness.
