Spencer High School Key Club Launches Celebration and Food Drive

The Spencer High School Key Club is gearing up for its annual celebration week from November 3 to November 7, 2023, featuring a series of activities designed to promote community spirit and engagement. This year’s events will include themed days such as “Show Your K,” “Invite and Include,” “Dare to Share,” “Random Acts of Kindness,” and “Connect.”

Throughout the summer, Key Club members demonstrated their commitment to service by participating in various community events. They contributed to the Spencer Hy-Noon Kiwanis Cookie Bucket project during the Clay County Fair and engaged with the community by selling apples alongside the Spencer Daybreakers Kiwanis.

The week-long celebration aims to encourage students and community members alike to engage in acts of kindness and inclusivity. Each day has a specific focus that aligns with the club’s values and mission to foster leadership and service among young people.

On “Show Your K” day, participants are encouraged to wear Key Club colors to raise awareness about the organization. “Invite and Include” will focus on welcoming new members and promoting a sense of belonging within the school community. “Dare to Share” encourages individuals to share their talents and resources with those in need, while “Random Acts of Kindness” aims to inspire spontaneous generosity. The week will conclude with “Connect” day, which emphasizes building relationships within the community.

In addition to these activities, the Key Club will also host a food drive during the week, collecting non-perishable food items to support local families in need. This initiative reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to community service and support.
