MLB Announces Spring Training Opening on February 20, 2024
BREAKING NEWS: Major League Baseball (MLB) has just announced the opening date for its highly anticipated spring training schedule, set to kick off on February 20, 2024. Fans can look forward to seven exciting games across the country, featuring marquee matchups such as the Yankees facing the Orioles in Sarasota, Florida and the Cubs taking on the White Sox in Mesa, Arizona.
This announcement, made Wednesday, is generating buzz among fans eager for baseball action. Other notable games include the Diamondbacks vs. Rockies, Padres vs. Mariners, and Royals vs. Rangers on the same day. Additionally, the Red Sox will compete against Northeastern University, while the Twins face off against the University of Minnesota.
The excitement continues as the World Series champion Dodgers are set to open their spring training on February 21 against the Angels in Tempe, Arizona. Fans can also look forward to a series of games on March 3 and 4, where MLB teams will play against national teams preparing for the World Baseball Classic. The United States will go head-to-head with the Giants on March 3, followed by a matchup against the Rockies on March 4, both taking place in Scottsdale.
In an exciting development, the Spring Breakout featuring games between top prospects will occur from March 19-22. Notably, the Athletics and Angels are scheduled to play in Las Vegas on March 7 and 8. It’s worth mentioning that the A’s plan to make Las Vegas their home by the 2028 season, adding to the city’s growing sports scene.
As the MLB opener approaches on March 25 in San Francisco, the Yankees will enhance their preparations with exhibition games at the Cubs on March 23 and 24. Meanwhile, the Detroit Tigers will also face the Cubs during those days as they gear up for their opener on March 26 against the Padres in San Diego.
