A presentation focused on the critical role of the nonprofit organization BENCHS in rescuing pets will take place on March 5, 2024, at 6 p.m. The event is part of the Free Press Knowledge and Lecture Series and will occur at the Free Press Media office, located at 418 S. Second St., Mankato. The lecture aims to educate the general public about the organization’s outreach efforts and community impact.

Dede Barton, who handles outreach duties at BENCHS, will lead the discussion. Her responsibilities include connecting with local businesses and engaging the community through initiatives such as radio spots and “lunchbox sessions.” These efforts are designed to raise awareness about pet rescue and the importance of supporting local animal welfare initiatives.

The lecture is free to attend, and no prior registration is required. This opportunity allows attendees to learn more about the various aspects of pet rescue and how they can get involved in supporting these efforts within their community.

As BENCHS continues to make significant strides in animal rescue, events like this lecture serve as an essential platform for educating the public and fostering community engagement.
