The Golden State Warriors defeated the Utah Jazz 134-117 on March 4, 2024, at the Chase Center in San Francisco, successfully ending a three-game losing streak. Star player Stephen Curry led the Warriors with a game-high 31 points, marking his seventh game this season with over 30 points. The victory was crucial for the Warriors as they opened a five-game homestand after suffering a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers just days prior.

In a game characterized by outstanding shooting performance, the Warriors found themselves trailing after the first quarter. The Jazz, who were battling fatigue after a close game against the Los Angeles Lakers the night before, started strong, shooting 70% from beyond the arc. Keyonte George was instrumental for Utah, scoring 15 of the Jazz’s 35 points in the opening quarter, including four 3-pointers. By the end of the first quarter, Utah led 35-26.

The momentum shifted dramatically in the second quarter. The Warriors launched a remarkable comeback, scoring 24 of the first 27 points in that period. Moses Moody played a pivotal role, contributing eight points as five different Warriors connected on 3-pointers during the run. This surge allowed Golden State to take a 50-38 lead, and they went into halftime with a comfortable 67-55 advantage.

As the second half commenced, Curry and Moody continued to dominate, combining for three quick 3-pointers and pushing the lead to 80-63. The Warriors showcased their depth by utilizing 11 players, all of whom contributed to the scoreline. In addition to Curry’s six 3-pointers, Buddy Hield added four to finish with 20 points, while Jimmy Butler III scored 18.

The Warriors’ shooting statistics reflected their offensive prowess. They achieved a shooting percentage of 49.5% overall and converted 19 of their 52 attempts from the 3-point line, which is 37%. The 134 points marked the Warriors’ second-highest scoring total this season in a non-overtime game.

Utah struggled to maintain their early momentum. After hitting seven 3-pointers in the first quarter, they only managed four for the remainder of the game. The Jazz shot 47.5% from the field overall but found it challenging to keep pace with the Warriors’ scoring. Rookie Ace Bailey matched his season high with 21 points for Utah, while George finished with 28 points, six rebounds, and a team-high seven assists. Lauri Markkanen, Brice Sensabaugh, Kyle Anderson, and Kyle Filipowski contributed to the scoring with 17, 16, 12, and 11 points respectively. Additionally, Jusuf Nurkic led the Jazz with nine rebounds.

The Warriors will look to build on this victory as they continue their homestand, while the Jazz face challenges as they aim to break their four-game losing streak.
