Corey Feldman and Courtney Feldman Reach Divorce Settlement
Corey Feldman and his estranged wife, Courtney Feldman, have settled their divorce, avoiding a potentially contentious trial. According to Us Weekly, the settlement was announced on November 20, 2023, during a court conference. The couple’s agreement follows Courtney’s request for an increase in spousal support from Corey, which had previously been set at $3,500 per month.
In a statement to Us Weekly, Corey, 54, expressed relief at reaching a resolution. He stated, “I’m glad that the most painful part of this is finally behind us. I pray for everyone involved that we can move on with our lives and heal.” He also requested privacy as he looks ahead to upcoming projects, emphasizing the need to focus on his career.
Courtney initially filed court documents seeking a monthly support increase to $7,226, along with $16,712 in retroactive payments and $15,000 for legal fees. This request arose after she claimed Corey had earned a substantial income from his recent appearance on Dancing With the Stars, where contestants reportedly make between $125,000 and $300,000 for a season. Corey was eliminated in the second week of the show’s 34th season but is expected to make a final appearance on November 25.
Courtney cited financial difficulties following their separation, stating that she had to borrow money for bills and lacked reliable transportation, while Corey had access to multiple luxury vehicles. She also requested $42,409, alleging it represented half of their community assets, as well as coverage for her medical bills amounting to $4,379.
Corey’s publicist, Samantha Waranch, criticized Courtney’s demands, calling them “unexpected and excessive.” She highlighted that Corey had consistently provided financial support, including maintaining Courtney’s health insurance since their separation. Waranch noted, “Corey has always worked incredibly hard for everything he has, and he hopes that everyone in his life chooses to build their own success rather than relying on his.”
The couple married in 2016 and separated in June 2023. Corey filed for legal separation in September of the same year. The breakdown of the marriage was reportedly linked to differing lifestyles, with Courtney asserting that the relationship shifted when she expressed a desire to stop partying.
In response to the allegations surrounding their divorce, Corey stated, “I’m deeply hurt by the false accusations surrounding our divorce. Those who truly know me understand these allegations were made to sensationalize the story and gain sympathy from the court and public.” He emphasized that their incompatibility was a common reason for marital breakdowns.
As both parties look to move on, the settlement marks a significant step in finalizing their divorce proceedings. The focus now shifts to their individual futures, with Corey particularly excited about upcoming opportunities in his career.
