This marks her first new music since the instrumental album End Of The Day, which came out earlier in 2023, and follows her 2021 LP, Things Take Time, Take Time. The new track features an energetic guitar riff, with Barnett expressing her thoughts in the chorus, “Gotta get this off my chest / This never would’ve happened if I stayed in my lane, stayed the same way.”

In an interview with Guitar World, she shared insights into her creative process, stating, “I’m working on a new album now, and the songs… I guess they’re kind of varied. It depends on the mood and energy that’s necessary for the song.”

Barnett further elaborated on her songwriting evolution, describing her experience as being “in the last quarter” of completing her new project. She expressed enthusiasm about the direction of her music, noting, “It’s getting close and it’s feeling good: I’m feeling excited about it being a journey.”
