Cinetrea Grace, the founder and CEO of 619 Productions, is making a significant impact in Fort Worth by providing free and low-cost arts programming for people of all ages in underserved communities. Since its inception in 2001, the organization has served over 10,000 students, offering an array of creative classes that include theater, dance, music, and writing.

Grace’s journey into the world of arts began in her childhood, shaped by her father’s passion for music and the encouragement of her drama teacher, Mary Porter. Now at 61, Grace has dedicated the last two decades to ensuring that others have similar opportunities to express themselves creatively. “My love has always been community,” she stated. “It’s important not just for the kids, but the adults to have an outlet.”

619 Productions provides after-school programs at Handley Meadowbrook and Como community centers, where students can explore their creative talents. One of her former students, Samille Kotei, is a testament to the program’s success. Kotei, who became involved with 619 Productions while serving as captain of the drill team at Dunbar High School, credits Grace’s mentorship for her growth as an actress and singer. Now living in Atlanta, Kotei serves as the board president of 619 Productions, making her the only alumnus to hold such a position within the organization. “Ms. Cinetrea is a very hands-on, reality-driven person,” Kotei remarked. “She’s motivating, uplifting, and pulls out the best in anybody.”

A Vision for the Future

As Grace continues to expand the reach of 619 Productions, she envisions opening a large-scale performing arts complex that would further enhance creative opportunities for the community. Although she has not yet determined a location, her dedication to fostering artistic expression remains unwavering. “I strive to ensure I have tears of creativity constantly flowing,” she said, emphasizing the importance of continuous growth and exploration in the arts.
