Montgomery County Food Safety Inspections Reveal Serious Violations
Food safety inspections conducted in Montgomery County during the week of November 2-8, 2025, uncovered multiple violations across various food establishments. The Montgomery County Office of Public Health (MCOPH) highlighted issues ranging from improper food storage to unsanitary conditions, some of which may pose risks to public health.
Each establishment is subject to an annual inspection, with additional visits occurring if initial results are unsatisfactory or complaints are reported. As stated by MCOPH, these inspection reports provide a “snapshot” of conditions at the time of inspection and may not reflect the overall cleanliness of the establishments.
Several notable violations were reported in the inspections. At **El Patron Mexican Restaurant Y Taquer LLC**, located at 10 W Main St, Norristown, inspectors found a blocked handwashing sink and raw chicken stored above raw fish, raising food safety concerns. Additionally, the restaurant was cited for having fly strips hanging in the kitchen and fly-like insects in the back room, necessitating a current pest control report within ten business days.
**Charkoal’s Brazilian Steakhouse**, situated at 220 N Gulph Rd, King of Prussia, faced serious sanitation issues, including a malfunctioning warewashing machine that failed to maintain the required chlorine sanitizer concentration. The facility was directed to cease using the machine until repairs were made and proper sanitizing procedures were restored.
**Tous Les Jours** at 700 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, was flagged for improperly storing cleaning products next to food items and failing to ensure that employee medicine was not on food prep surfaces. Furthermore, food containers were found stored on the floor of the walk-in cooler and freezer, which is a violation of contamination prevention protocols.
**Parson’s Barbecue**, located at 808 Bethlehem Pike, Colmar, had raw eggs improperly stored above ready-to-eat food items in their refrigerator, which is a clear breach of food safety regulations. This violation can lead to cross-contamination and potential foodborne illnesses.
At **Korea Garden Restaurant I, Inc.**, found at 732 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, inspectors noted that the establishment did not display its food establishment license and lacked proper signage regarding potential foodborne risks associated with raw or undercooked items. The facility also reported multiple instances of food being stored improperly, including raw meat above ready-to-eat foods.
The **Oreland Inn** at 101 Lorraine Ave, Oreland, was observed with an expired license and several repeat violations regarding food handling practices. The facility was also cited for lacking proper handwashing facilities and storage practices, which are essential to maintaining hygiene standards.
**Dunkin Donuts – SJM Foods LLC** at 3608 Welsh Rd, Willow Grove, had issues with open employee beverages in food preparation areas and failed to maintain adequate cold holding temperatures for food items, potentially jeopardizing food safety. The facility was instructed to provide proof of pest control services after rodent droppings were found in the back prep area.
**South Sea Thai Kitchen** at 1717 Old York Rd, Abington, successfully corrected previous violations noted in an October inspection, demonstrating compliance with health standards.
The MCOPH emphasizes the importance of addressing these violations promptly to safeguard public health. Inspectors encourage patrons to report any health concerns after dining at these establishments, using the MCOPH complaint form available on their website.
