Fallston UMC Hosts Festive Holly Jolly Holiday Bazaar
The Holly Jolly Holiday Bazaar at Fallston United Methodist Church on November 22, 2023, attracted a lively crowd of shoppers and families, eager to kick off the festive season. The event featured a variety of vendor tables, showcasing crafts, decorations, and activities aimed at engaging the community.
Families enjoyed activities such as gingerbread house decorating, where young participants like Eli Knopp, aged 7, and his sister Becca Knopp, aged 5, displayed their creativity. The atmosphere buzzed with laughter as children interacted with Mrs. Claus and Santa, creating memorable moments that encapsulated the holiday spirit.
Vendors offered a range of unique items, including handmade crafts and seasonal decorations. Among them was Julie Schubert, owner of Younique Crafts & Decor, who assisted customers with their purchases, contributing to the event’s warm and inviting atmosphere. Shoppers explored various stalls, including one featuring decorations made from shells, showcasing the creativity and talent of local artisans.
One of the standout stories from the bazaar was that of Dominick Hafner, a 14-year-old from Bel Air. He and his 8-year-old brother Henrik Hafner sold crafts made from melted crayons. All proceeds from their sales went to the Cool Kids Campaign, a charity close to Dominick’s heart as it has supported him during his own cancer treatments. This charitable aspect of the event highlighted the community’s commitment to supporting one another, especially during the holiday season.
As shoppers navigated the bustling hall, they appreciated the diverse offerings, from crafted serving boards by local artisan Becca Martinek to the festive holiday crafts displayed on vendor tables. The bazaar served as a reminder of the importance of community engagement and support, especially during a time when many are looking for ways to give back.
Overall, the Holly Jolly Holiday Bazaar not only provided a platform for local businesses and artisans but also fostered a sense of community spirit. Participants left with not just unique holiday gifts but also the warmth of shared experiences and the joy of giving, making it a truly special event for all involved.
