The Jewish Federation of Cleveland has achieved a remarkable milestone, raising a record total of $39,035,018 for its 2026 Campaign for Jewish Needs. This significant amount was generated through 9,036 gifts from 12,094 donors, reflecting the community’s commitment to supporting both local initiatives and global Jewish needs.

The Campaign for Jewish Needs is an annual effort that provides essential funding to maintain a safe, strong, and vibrant Jewish community. This year’s success was further bolstered by a matching program from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation, which matched all new gifts dollar for dollar. Additionally, the foundation matched any increased contributions of 10 percent or more made between September 7 and November 1.

In a show of support, Brunswick Companies also contributed, donating an additional $1,000 for each donor who upgraded to the next Giving Society during a Campaign event. The totals were celebrated at the Campaign Closing event held at the Hebrew Academy of Cleveland on December 8.

Community Spirit Shines Through Generosity

Amir Jaffa, the general Campaign chair, emphasized the collaborative effort behind the Campaign’s success. “This Campaign isn’t the work of one person, but of an entire community standing shoulder to shoulder, showing up for one another and choosing, once again, to build a stronger Jewish future together,” Jaffa stated. He expressed gratitude for the community’s generosity, highlighting that every contribution translates into safety, dignity, compassion, and hope for those in need.

The Campaign Closing event featured a special appearance by Eli Sharabi, an Israeli author and hostage survivor. Sharabi, who endured 491 days in captivity by Hamas, shared his experiences and insights from his bestselling memoir, “Hostage.” His story of resilience and hope resonated deeply with attendees.

The event also honored Allison Brandon, the recipient of the 2025 Ambassador Milton A. and Roslyn Z. Wolf Young Campaigner of the Year Award. Brandon’s contributions as the Young Leadership Division Campaign co-chair and Super Sunday Kickoff co-chair exemplify the spirit of tikkun olam, or repairing the world.

Leadership Acknowledged and Future Perspectives

Attendees expressed their appreciation for Jaffa’s leadership during a challenging period for the community. Jeffrey J. Wild, Chair of the Federation Board, praised Jaffa’s clarity, courage, and heart in guiding the Campaign. “Because of his unwavering dedication, our Campaign is stronger, our community is stronger, and the impact of his leadership will be felt long after his tenure,” Wild remarked.

The Federation’s Campaign for Jewish Needs is pivotal in ensuring the community’s well-being and fostering a spirit of unity. For further information about the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and its initiatives, visit jewishcleveland.org.
