Santa Clarita Chamber Honors Veterans at 15th Annual Salute to Patriots
The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the city of Santa Clarita, has announced the honorees for the 15th Annual Salute to Patriots. This event aims to recognize veterans who have shown exceptional dedication to both the nation and the local business community. Scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2025, the ceremony will take place at the SCV Senior Center at Bella Vida, with registration commencing at 3:30 p.m.
This year’s honorees, selected for their distinguished service and ongoing contributions to the community, include Camille Applin-Jones, Juan Blanco, Robert Lasher, Vernon Charles Miller, Anthony Straight, Deputy Keith Wells, and Eric White. According to Di Thompson, chair of the SCV Chamber board for 2025, “This year’s honorees represent the very best of Santa Clarita, individuals who have served with distinction and continue to make an impact through leadership and community service.”
The Salute to Patriots event is designed not only as a tribute but also as a catalyst for action, encouraging community members to engage in service and support. “Our veterans are pillars of our community. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment remind us what true service means,” stated Ivan Volschenk, president and CEO of the SCV Chamber. He emphasized the importance of honoring veterans, stating, “We owe them our deepest gratitude. Honoring them brings us together in appreciation and pride for all they have given.”
Throughout the month of October, members of the chamber and local residents submitted nominations to recognize veterans who exemplify continued service beyond their military careers. From these submissions, seven individuals were ultimately chosen to be honored this year. Nominations that were not selected will remain under consideration for future events to ensure that every story of service is acknowledged.
Sponsorship opportunities and tickets for the event are available. The chamber encourages community members, organizations, and businesses to attend and show their support for local veterans. For additional details and registration, interested parties can visit the chamber’s website at www.scvchamber.com, navigating to the Events tab.
This annual celebration serves as a meaningful reminder of the contributions of veterans, fostering a spirit of community and gratitude in Santa Clarita and beyond.
