Terry Black’s Barbecue Expands with New Location in New Braunfels
Terry Black’s Barbecue is set to expand with a new location in New Braunfels, Texas, at 1310 E. Common St. The establishment will occupy the former site of Los Cucos Mexican Restaurant. This announcement has generated excitement among barbecue enthusiasts, as construction is already underway at the location.
While there is no confirmed timeline for the opening, the restaurant is expected to provide updates on its social media channels. Many anticipate that Terry Black’s Barbecue could welcome its first customers before the end of next year. The family-run business, founded in 1932 by Edgar Black Sr. in Lockhart, Texas, has made a name for itself in the barbecue scene.
Terry Black, along with his twin sons, Mike and Mark, opened what is now known as Terry Black’s Barbecue in Austin in 2014, following a family split with his brother, Kent Black. The new location in New Braunfels will be situated near the original Black’s Barbecue, adding a layer of competition to the area. Despite the familial tensions, Terry Black’s Barbecue has thrived, offering a diverse menu that includes smoked meats like sliced brisket, beef ribs, and turkey, available by the pound, as well as family packs featuring popular sides such as mac and cheese, cream corn, and Mexican rice.
Current Locations and Future Plans
Terry Black’s Barbecue currently operates five locations across Texas, including Austin, Waco, and Dallas, along with an additional site in Nashville, TN. The expansion into New Braunfels is a strategic move into a region known for its barbecue culture, which may enhance the restaurant’s customer base.
As anticipation builds for the New Braunfels opening, fans of Terry Black’s Barbecue will need to remain patient. What Now San Antonio attempted to reach out to Mark Black for further details but did not receive a response prior to publication.
In the meantime, those interested in the new location should keep an eye on 1310 E. Common St. for updates regarding the official opening date. This is a developing story, and further information will be shared as it becomes available.
