The Buffalo Bills made headlines on November 26, 2025, by signing veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks to their 53-man roster. This move comes after Cooks was released by the New Orleans Saints following a season in which he recorded 19 receptions for 165 yards across ten games. To accommodate Cooks, the Bills decided to release fellow wide receiver Elijah Moore, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Cooks’ addition to the roster follows a period of uncertainty regarding the Bills’ receiving corps, particularly involving Keon Coleman. The second-year receiver was a healthy scratch for two consecutive games, Weeks 11 and 12, due to disciplinary issues stemming from missing a team meeting before a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This absence raised significant questions about Coleman’s future with the team.

Former Bills director of player personnel Jim Monos weighed in on the situation during the Go Long TD Podcast, stating that the Bills should consider cutting Coleman. “They should just cut Keon Coleman. It would be one of the ultimate messages sent,” Monos remarked. He emphasized the team’s recent offensive performance, suggesting that they could thrive without Coleman, especially following an impressive display against a formidable Tampa defense.

Despite the chatter surrounding Coleman, who has made 32 catches for 330 yards and three touchdowns this season, the Bills appear willing to give him another chance. Their decision to part ways with Moore, who tallied nine receptions for 112 yards this season, indicates that they are prioritizing potential and development over immediate results.

The Bills struggled offensively in their recent 23-19 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 12, failing to score more than 20 points. This performance highlighted the risk of relying on Coleman, who needs to prove both his on-field abilities and his maturity within the locker room as the Bills aim for a playoff spot.

As the season progresses, Coleman faces the challenge of demonstrating his value not only through his performance but also by fostering a positive team dynamic. The Bills’ management will undoubtedly monitor his progress closely, and if he does not meet expectations in these areas, they may be compelled to make a difficult decision regarding his future with the franchise.
