Jamestown Celebrates 21st Holiday Dazzle Parade with Awards
The Jamestown Downtown Association hosted the 21st Annual Holiday Dazzle Parade on November 28, 2023, showcasing a vibrant display of community spirit along First Avenue in Jamestown. The parade featured an impressive total of 53 float entries, captivating attendees with creative themes and festive decorations.
Prizes were awarded in four distinct categories, recognizing the effort and creativity of participants. Each winner received a trophy accompanied by a cash prize of $100. The award for Most Outstanding Non-Profit/Civic went to the Victory Christian School Christmas Train, a highlight of the event that brought joy to many spectators.
In the Most Outstanding Amateur Built category, the Jamestown Quilters Guild emerged victorious, showcasing their craftsmanship with a beautifully designed float. The award for Most Original Theme was claimed by Hondos Hideaway, Freds Den, and Bufftown Bargains, who cleverly embraced a Golden Girls theme that resonated with both nostalgia and creativity.
The Best Dazzle award was presented to Otter Tail Power Co., featuring an eye-catching lighted boom truck and power poles float that illuminated the night. The combination of creativity and festive spirit made the parade a memorable occasion for all involved.
Looking ahead, the Jamestown Downtown Association has already announced plans for the 22nd annual Holiday Dazzle Parade, scheduled for November 27, 2024. This annual event traditionally takes place on the Friday following Thanksgiving, ensuring a continued celebration of the holiday season within the community.
The Holiday Dazzle Parade not only fosters a sense of community but also highlights the creativity and dedication of local organizations and individuals. As the event continues to grow, it remains a cherished tradition for residents and visitors alike in Jamestown.
