URGENT UPDATE: Alejandra’s Mexican restaurant has officially reopened its doors in Downtown Visalia after a devastating fire closed it for more than three years. Following a fire that started in a nearby dumpster, the restaurant was among several businesses affected, but now it stands rebuilt and ready to serve the community again.

The fire, which occurred in 2022, led to extensive damage, leaving ash and debris in its wake. A man has since admitted to starting the fire, but the resilient spirit of Alejandra’s has triumphed. “It feels great to be back,” said Saul Altamirano, the General Manager of Alejandra’s. “The staff has been anxious to return, and we’re excited to welcome our customers again.”

Since the reopening, hundreds of eager diners have flocked to the restaurant, which has retained its familiar ambiance while boasting significant improvements. Notably, Alejandra’s can now accommodate about 200 people, with the bar space tripled to fit 24 patrons. The patio features five new tables, and booths now seat six instead of four, enhancing the dining experience for guests.

Longtime customer Geraldine Cole, who has frequented Alejandra’s since 2008, expressed her joy at the restaurant’s return. “It just feels like something was missing in Visalia,” she stated, emphasizing the nostalgia and community connection that Alejandra’s represents. “We’ve been waiting to see it come back.”

The grand reopening is scheduled for October 21, 2023, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony expected to take place between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The community is warmly invited to join the celebration of this beloved local establishment.

Operating hours have also been confirmed: Alejandra’s will be open from 9 AM to 10 PM Monday through Thursday, 10 AM to 10 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 9 AM to 9 PM on Sundays.

After facing destruction, Alejandra’s has risen from the ashes, embodying a message of resilience and community spirit. “Things may happen for the better,” Altamirano reflected, highlighting the restaurant’s growth and expanded space aimed at better serving their loyal customers.

For more updates and details, diners are encouraged to follow Alejandra’s on social media. The excitement in Downtown Visalia is palpable as the community welcomes back not just a restaurant, but a cherished part of its identity.
