UPDATE: A significant cold front is gripping the Northeast USA today, with wind chills plummeting to below zero in many areas. Temperatures are struggling to reach the lower 20s, but it will feel even colder due to gusty winds.

Residents are urged to brace for this bitter cold as the region experiences a surge of mid-winter air. Under clear skies, temperatures will drop sharply, especially north and west of Concord, where many will face sub-zero conditions.

Expect a brief respite with some sunshine, but don’t be deceived; the winds will make it feel like the single digits. Afternoon highs will barely reach the 20s, and as evening approaches, clouds will thicken, setting the stage for light snow showers after 8 PM.

Looking ahead, a system is forecasted to bring light snow and rain on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. The morning commute appears dry, but conditions will change by late morning with snow likely transitioning to rain in southern New Hampshire during the afternoon. Areas north and west may see a few inches of snow accumulation before the rain arrives.

Residents are advised to stay updated on weather developments as conditions will continue to evolve. Stay warm and safe as this cold snap takes hold!
