Central Florida High School Sports Scores: Key Victories on Nov. 24
URGENT UPDATE: Major high school sports action unfolded across Central Florida on November 24, 2023, with standout performances in boys and girls basketball as well as soccer. The thrilling matchups at Edgewater High School and Lake Howell High School delivered impressive scores that are sure to impact team standings this season.
In the boys basketball showdown at the South Florida Classic, Oak Ridge dominated Martin County with a resounding score of 80-49. The Eagles showcased their strength, with key player contributions leading the charge. Meanwhile, in a nail-biter, Stranahan edged out Evans 60-54.
At the Sun Bash Orlando, Lake Howell triumphed over South Lake with a score of 63-53. Johnas Maurice lit up the court for the Silverhawks, netting 18 points. Dwayne Foreman III led South Lake with 16 points but fell short as the team dropped to 0-3 this season.
In other notable results, Eustis defeated Evangelical Christian 64-54, powered by Eric Glover’s stellar performance of 26 points and 5 steals. The Panthers improve to 3-0 for the season, making them a team to watch.
The action continued as Sarasota beat Winthrop Charter 74-60 and Olympia narrowly defeated Providence (Jacksonville) 62-61, thanks to James Nowells’ impressive 26 points.
Moving to the girls basketball scene at the Silverhawk Classic, Seminole pulled off a close victory against Lake Brantley, winning 61-57. Riley Coombs led the Patriots with 13 points. Lake Howell also showcased their prowess, defeating Bayside 64-60.
In soccer, Bishop Moore secured a tight 2-1 win over New Smyrna Beach, with standout players Winston Weibel and Alejandro Chica each scoring goals. The Hornets now stand at 5-2-1 this season, solidifying their competitive edge.
