Critical Role Unveils Daggerheart Expansion: Hope & Fear for 2026

BREAKING: Critical Role’s Darrington Press has just announced an exciting expansion for its popular TTRPG, Daggerheart, titled Hope & Fear. Revealed at PAX Unplugged over the weekend, this expansion is set to launch in 2026 and promises to bring thrilling new gameplay options for fans of werewolves and vampires.

This expansion will introduce a wealth of new character creator options, including the highly anticipated new classes: Brawler and Assassin. Each class will feature two unique subclasses, enhancing player choices significantly. Additionally, players can look forward to new transformation cards that will expand their heritages, now including Vampire, Werewolf, Shapeshifter, Ghost, Demigod, and Reanimated.

For game masters, Hope & Fear will offer four new campaign suggestions, each complete with custom mechanics and themes. The expansion also boasts over 130 adversaries to challenge players, adding depth and variety to gameplay.

The expansion is set to be available in two editions: a $40 standard edition and a $120 deluxe edition. The standard edition includes essential cards and a blank pad for creating adversaries, alongside a comprehensive 200-page book. Meanwhile, the deluxe edition offers an array of premium items, including a full polyhedral dice set, a GM screen, tokens, and an elegant gold foil box. Notably, owners of the deluxe edition will receive an early access PDF of the rulebook two weeks before the official launch.
