URGENT UPDATE: A dog named Rascal has been rescued after spending 48 hours trapped in a deep well in Harrison County, Mississippi. The incident unfolded on Thursday, October 24, when Rascal fell into the well while exploring under the house during a kitchen remodel.

According to Harrison County Fire and Rescue, the well was approximately 18 inches in diameter and plunged 20 feet deep, creating a small void at the bottom where Rascal became stuck. Firefighters were alerted and responded promptly, conducting a rescue operation that would span two days.

Firefighters stated, “We were granted permission to break up the floor above the well opening.” To ensure Rascal’s safety during the operation, they covered the well with a sheet of plywood to prevent debris from falling.
