Just last month, on February 2025, Clinton Benninghoff achieved a staggering $100,000 in sales during a single six-hour live show on Whatnot. He began his journey from a brick-and-mortar golf shop, streaming directly from his iPhone. “I didn’t even know how to run an auction,” he shared, revealing that his early viewers guided him through the process, showcasing the community aspect of live selling.
The growing trend is not only about sales; it’s about building a loyal community. According to Benninghoff, “You’re building this community of people that are following a personality.” This connection is vital, as it transforms viewers from mere customers into a family-like audience.

Wehr describes their approach: “Everything doesn’t have to be perfect.
