Glen Powell’s Wardrobe Malfunction Shocks on ‘The Running Man’ Set
UPDATE: Actor Glen Powell faced an unexpected wardrobe malfunction while filming his latest movie, The Running Man, leaving him exposed during a daring stunt. Speaking candidly on Entertainment Tonight, Powell revealed the embarrassing moment that unfolded while he was rappelling down a building, unexpectedly catching the attention of crew members inside a nearby window.
Powell, 37, described the incident, which involved him wearing only a towel and a pouch he humorously referred to as a “marble sack.” He explained, “When you’re going down the building and you see a window, you don’t realize there’s people in there, like, lighting and doing electric.” His co-star, Josh Brolin, couldn’t resist teasing him, mimicking his positioning while pointing out that crew members were “watching [him] come down frontally.”
The film, which stars Powell as a desperate father trying to earn money for his sick daughter, is set to hit theaters on November 7. The plot involves Powell’s character competing in a deadly reality show where contestants must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins.
During the interview, Powell admitted to initially loving the comedic concept of the scene. However, he later expressed regret, stating, “I agreed to that scene in the summertime, and we shot that scene in February in Bulgaria on a rooftop.” Facing the cold of winter while wearing minimal clothing only added to his discomfort, as he remarked, “Being in a towel in front of a crew is one thing, but being in a towel in February in frigid Bulgaria, it’s a sight.”
The buzz around Powell has intensified following his breakout role in 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick. Since then, he has starred in multiple films, including Hit Man and Anyone But You, the latter of which garnered him a Golden Globe nomination. Rumors about his romantic involvement with co-star Sydney Sweeney have also circulated, especially after Sweeney attended Powell’s sister’s wedding in March. However, Sweeney clarified in October that the media had exaggerated their connection, stating, “The tabloids and journalists just created it and kept going.”
As anticipation builds for The Running Man, audiences are left eager to see how Powell’s humorous mishap translates on screen. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
