Knicks Dominate Raptors 116-94, Improve Home Record to 10-1
UPDATE: The New York Knicks continue to assert their dominance at home, defeating the Toronto Raptors 116-94 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. This victory solidifies their impressive home record to 10-1, making them the most formidable team in the Eastern Conference at home.
A powerful first quarter, where the Knicks scored 41 points, set the tone for the game. Knicks guard Miles McBride, who led the charge with 12 points in the opening quarter, emphasized the importance of protecting their home court. “MSG is a place where guys want to come in and really get off, so we have to be even more locked in at home than other places,” McBride stated.
The Knicks’ success at Madison Square Garden has become a trending topic in the NBA. They are currently on pace to challenge the franchise record of 27-4 set during the 1992-93 season—a year when they finished with an overall record of 60-22.
In a team effort, six Knicks players scored in double figures. Notably, Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 22 points and 8 rebounds, praising the fans: “Our fans make playing at home so fun, and the support they give us and energy they give us is priceless.”
The Knicks’ only home loss this season was a disappointing defeat by the Orlando Magic, where they fell 124-107 on November 12. Since the return of star player Jalen Brunson, who had missed two games due to an ankle injury, the Knicks have rebounded strongly, going 6-1 in their last seven games.
Toronto entered the match riding a nine-game winning streak but could not match the Knicks’ intensity. With the victory, the Knicks aim to build momentum as they prepare to face the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. The Celtics game will be crucial, as the Knicks have struggled on the road, currently holding a 3-5 away record.
Knicks forward Josh Hart also made significant contributions with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists. “Obviously the fans come out and show love and they’ve been great in terms of support,” Hart said when discussing the home court advantage.
With the Knicks standing strong at Madison Square Garden and a challenging road ahead, fans are eager to see if this home-court magic will translate into success away from New York. The team’s determination and fan support will be pivotal as they strive to maintain their competitive edge in the league.
Stay tuned for further developments as the Knicks prepare for their next challenge against the Celtics.
