Lincoln Triumphs as NorCal High School Football Championships Conclude
UPDATE: The CIF NorCal high school football championships wrapped up in a thrilling series of games on December 5 and 6, 2025, showcasing intense matchups and heart-stopping moments across multiple divisions. Fans witnessed dramatic victories and emotional farewells as teams battled for glory, making this a weekend to remember.
In the NorCal Division 6-AA championship, Lincoln-San Jose clinched a nail-biting 28-20 win against Gridley at Lincoln High School in San Jose, California. The game, held on December 5, saw Lincoln’s head coach Kevin Collins celebrating his team’s triumph after 33 years of dedicated coaching.
In another exciting clash, St. Mary’s-Stockton edged out Serra with a score of 31-24 during their contest at St. Mary’s High School, Stockton, also on December 5. The game was highlighted by a pivotal interception from St. Mary’s player Mason Eagal, sealing their victory as fans erupted in celebration.
The NorCal Division 3-AA championship featured a close contest where St. Ignatius narrowly defeated Monte Vista with a score of 17-13. The match took place at St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco, California, where Zui Shelton’s touchdown was a standout moment.
The competition continued with the NorCal Division 1-AA championship, where Folsom triumphed over Riordan in a high-scoring showdown, finishing 42-38. Riordan’s running back, Adonyae Brown, was visibly emotional after the hard-fought loss, highlighting the intense dedication and passion displayed throughout the tournament.
On December 6, the NorCal Division 4-A championship saw El Cerrito secure a narrow victory against Menlo-Atherton, winning 20-16. The game featured a dramatic fourth quarter where El Cerrito’s players celebrated their hard-earned victory amidst cheers from their loyal supporters.
In the NorCal Division 1-A championship, Central East-Fresno dominated Pittsburg with a decisive 55-36 victory. This game was marked by a remarkable performance from Central East’s quarterback Jelani Dippel, who led his team to a resounding win at Pittsburg High School.
Lastly, McClymonds claimed the NorCal Division 3-A title, defeating Roseville with a score of 42-34. The match, held in Oakland, California, saw quarterback Berell Staples shine as he drove his team to victory, further solidifying McClymonds’ reputation in high school football.
