Man Shot Dead in South Sacramento: 33rd Homicide This Year

URGENT UPDATE: A man was shot and killed in south Sacramento late Thursday night, marking the city’s 33rd homicide of the year. Sacramento police confirmed the incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. on Meadowview Road, near 24th Street.
Authorities report that officers responded swiftly to numerous calls reporting gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The westbound lanes of Meadowview Road are currently closed as detectives conduct an in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity or any details regarding potential suspects.
