Serial Slasher Strikes Again in Brooklyn: Three Attacks in 24 Hours
URGENT UPDATE: A serial slasher is on the loose in Brooklyn, targeting unsuspecting victims in a series of unprovoked attacks over a mere 24 hours. Authorities confirm three separate incidents, with the latest occurring just this morning.
The first attack took place around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday when the suspect slashed a 37-year-old man on the left side of his face aboard a Manhattan-bound Q train at the Church Ave. subway stop in Flatbush. The victim managed to alert police after exiting the train, but the attacker remained on board.
Just hours later, at approximately 9:40 p.m. Saturday, the slasher struck again, targeting a 53-year-old man near Foster Ave. and New York Ave., about a mile and a half from the first incident. The pattern of attacks continued early Sunday, when a 56-year-old man was similarly assaulted around 6:55 a.m. near Newkirk Ave. and New York Ave..
All three victims were rushed to Kings County Hospital and are currently in stable condition, according to police reports. The NYPD has since intensified their search, deploying officers across several blocks in Flatbush to locate the suspect.
Authorities describe the suspect as wearing a navy blue jacket, black shorts, and white sneakers. A surveillance image has been released, urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
This wave of violence comes on the heels of a disturbing subway stabbing in Manhattan on October 16, where a man was attacked during a rush-hour argument. The suspect in that case was arrested the following day.
As fear grips the community, residents are urged to stay vigilant. The NYPD is working diligently to apprehend the individual responsible for these brutal attacks. Stay tuned for updates as this story develops.
