St. Charles North Dominates 2025 Volleyball All-Area Team Selection

UPDATE: The 2025 Beacon-News/Courier-News Girls Volleyball All-Area Team has just been announced, showcasing exceptional talent with **four standout players** from St. Charles North leading the charge. This year’s selections highlight the extraordinary achievements of high school athletes, making it a must-read for volleyball fans and sports enthusiasts alike.

Among the top players is **Haley Burgdorf**, a senior outside hitter from St. Charles North, who recorded an impressive **435 kills** along with **198 digs**, **52 aces**, and **23 blocks** this season. Burgdorf has not only been named **First Team All-State** but is also an **Under Armour All-American** and a **two-time DuKane Conference Player of the Year**. She has committed to play at **Penn State**.

In addition, **Camryn Boyd**, a freshman from South Elgin, has made waves with **291 kills**, **178 digs**, **35 aces**, and **24 blocks**. Her remarkable performance earned her **honorable mention all-state** and all-conference recognition.

Another rising star, **Rylie Carlson** from Newark, displayed her prowess as an outside hitter with **262 kills** and **214 digs**, securing her place on the **First Team All-State** list.

The **2025 All-Area Team** also features standout performances from players across the region. **Paige Genke**, a senior setter from South Elgin, achieved a remarkable **579 assists**, culminating in a total of **1,536 career assists**. She has been recognized as her team’s MVP and is a **two-time all-conference** player, with plans to continue her career at **D’Youville**.

Among other noteworthy players is **Hannah Herrick** from Oswego, who tallied **326 kills** and **256 digs**, earning the title of **Second Team All-State** and her team MVP honors. Committed to **Dayton**, her contributions have been pivotal for her team.

In a standout performance, **Elizabeth King**, a junior from Hampshire, achieved over **1,000 career kills**, along with **313 kills** and **150 digs** this season. Her consistent excellence has earned her **three-time all-conference** recognition.

The list continues with **Ella Maxwell** from West Aurora, who recorded **561 assists** and was named the **Upstate Eight West’s Player of the Year**, and **Mia McCall** from St. Charles North, who accumulated **767 assists** while also being an honorable mention all-state player.

Other notable athletes include **Kaylee McInnis** from St. Charles East, **Emma Peterson** from Geneva, and **Morgan Raiser** from Batavia, all of whom have made significant contributions to their teams and earned all-conference honors.
