U.S.-China AI Race: New Report Warns of Devastating Threats
URGENT UPDATE: A new report has just revealed that the race for artificial intelligence supremacy between the United States and China is escalating into a critical “cold war” that could reshape global power dynamics. According to the Center for Security Policy, if the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) succeeds in dominating AI by 2030, it could render the U.S. a “second-rate power.”
J. Michael Waller, a senior analyst and former CIA operative, emphasized the stakes in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, stating that America risks losing “everything” if it allows China to take the lead in AI technology. Waller warns that the AI competition will be decided within the next five years, and failure to act could have existential consequences not only for the U.S. but for the world.
The report outlines alarming scenarios where the CCP’s advancements in AI could allow it to dictate global technology standards, putting American and Western firms at a severe disadvantage. “American companies will be pressured to adapt their technologies to those developed under the CCP’s sponsorship,” the report states. This shift could lead to a significant loss of innovation and competitive edge for the U.S., putting national security at risk.
The implications are dire: if China floods the global market with inexpensive, high-quality AI products, it could push American businesses out of operation. Furthermore, the report details the chilling potential of Chinese AI technology to enhance military capabilities, challenging U.S. dominance across various domains, including autonomous weapons and advanced military strategies.
Waller elaborates on the frightening potential of AI in military applications, stating, “The CCP has mastered technology to deploy swarms of drones and robotic vehicles that can track and destroy targets with minimal human intervention.” This includes the development of humanoid combat robots, which the CCP refers to as “supersoldiers,” designed to operate in coordinated swarms.
The report coincides with recent statements from Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who reaffirmed U.S. support for Taiwan amid escalating threats from China. Rubio made it clear that no trade deal would compromise U.S. commitments to Taiwan, highlighting the geopolitical tension intertwined with the AI race.
Waller concluded with a stark warning about the national security implications of allowing China to lead in AI. “Imagine having an artificial intelligence system that dictates our needs and reasoning,” he cautioned, emphasizing the far-reaching consequences if the U.S. falls behind in this critical area.
As tensions rise, the world watches closely to see how this technological battle unfolds. The outcome could define the global landscape for decades to come.
