Urgent: Northern California Faces Morning Fog Through Thanksgiving
UPDATE: Northern California is bracing for recurring rounds of dense morning fog as a dry weather pattern persists through Thanksgiving Day. Visibility is expected to plummet along the I-5 corridor starting at midnight each night, with the thickest fog developing between 2 AM and 8 AM.
This weather condition could significantly impact travel plans as local residents prepare for the holiday. The Sacramento Valley is projected to clear faster than the San Joaquin Valley, leading to a wide range of afternoon temperatures across the region. For instance, Marysville and Sacramento are expected to reach highs in the low to mid 60s°F on Saturday, while Modesto and Turlock may struggle to break out of the mid 50s°F.
Travelers should remain vigilant as the fog may create hazardous driving conditions. Authorities recommend leaving extra time for commutes and exercising caution during early morning hours.
Looking ahead, while clouds are set to increase early next week, no rain or snow is anticipated through Thanksgiving. A few mountain showers could appear next Friday, but officials do not expect any significant travel disruptions.
Residents are urged to stay tuned for updates as weather conditions evolve. For immediate safety, keep abreast of local forecasts and adjust travel plans accordingly.
