Walmart Reports Strong Q3 Sales Growth, CEO Transition Ahead
URGENT UPDATE: Walmart has just announced impressive results for the third quarter, showcasing a remarkable 4.5% increase in same-store sales, exceeding analysts’ projections. This surge reflects the retail giant’s ability to attract a diverse range of customers, from low to high-income shoppers, even amid challenging economic conditions.
The company’s e-commerce division has also seen a substantial boost, with sales skyrocketing by 27% during the same period. Outgoing CEO Doug McMillon stated, “We’re gaining market share, improving delivery speed, and managing inventory well.” He emphasized that Walmart is “well-positioned for a strong finish to the year and beyond.”
As Walmart continues to dominate the retail landscape, the transition of leadership is set for January, as John Furner, currently head of the US division, prepares to succeed McMillon. This change comes at a pivotal time as Walmart solidifies its status as the largest retailer globally, accounting for more than one in four grocery dollars spent in the United States.
Today, November 17, 2025, customers are actively shopping at Walmart locations, with the company demonstrating resilience and strategic adaptability. The scale of Walmart’s operations provides valuable insights into the financial health of American households, making its performance critical to understanding consumer trends.
This story is developing, and further updates will follow as more information becomes available. Stay tuned for the latest developments on Walmart’s performance and leadership transition.
