Jon Bon Jovi Announces First Tour Since Vocal Surgery for 2026
Jon Bon Jovi is set to return to the stage in 2026 for the band’s first tour in four years, marking a significant comeback following his vocal cord surgery. After experiencing vocal issues, which were diagnosed as atrophy in one of his vocal cords in 2022, Bon Jovi underwent major surgery and has since focused on extensive rehabilitation. The tour will begin with four nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden in July and will include performances in Edinburgh, Dublin, and London.
Reconnecting with Fans and Bandmates
In an interview with the Associated Press at Wembley Stadium, where Bon Jovi will conclude their “Forever” Tour in September 2026, the frontman expressed his excitement about reconnecting with fans. He stated, “It’s a lot of hits that you know. But I think more than ever, I’m really in touch with the idea of gratitude and joy.” Bon Jovi emphasized the energy that he shares with the audience, noting that the lengthy break from performing has deepened his appreciation for live shows.
Bon Jovi mentioned that the motivation for returning to the stage stems from this connection, saying, “It’s just to go out there and say, ‘Touch.’ You know? It’s gonna be good.” He confirmed that the initial shows would be a way to ease back into performing, allowing him to gradually regain his footing. “Just get my feet back in the pool, you know, and get in there slowly,” he said, hinting at a more relaxed approach to the tour.
Support from Bandmates and New Album
While reflecting on his band’s loyalty, Bon Jovi acknowledged the steadfast support from his bandmates during his recovery. “They could have said, ‘We’ve had it. We’re done,’ but they chose to stand by me,” he explained. Their commitment has strengthened their bond, with Bon Jovi noting how grateful he is to have a group that prioritizes friendship and collaboration over financial gain.
Each member of the band has contributed uniquely to their latest project, the album “Forever (Legendary Edition).” Bon Jovi revealed that the album was created in conjunction with a documentary and the band’s 40th anniversary. He described how, despite his physical limitations, he sought to reimagine the record by incorporating guest features, making it more vibrant. “I think they took a great record and made it better,” he remarked.
Among the notable collaborations, Bon Jovi reached out to Robbie Williams, who enthusiastically agreed to participate. This initial outreach enabled Bon Jovi to connect with other artists, resulting in contributions that elevated the album’s overall quality. He shared that the joy expressed in the music is palpable and that the collaborative spirit raised the bar for the final product.
Finally, Bon Jovi spoke about his admiration for Bruce Springsteen, sharing a nostalgic connection to his music. He described Springsteen and the E Street Band as the “Beatles” of their time, highlighting the significance of their work in his own musical journey.
As Bon Jovi gears up for this anticipated tour, the excitement among fans and the band alike reflects a renewed commitment to celebrating music and the connections it fosters. The upcoming shows promise to be a heartfelt reunion, marking a new chapter for Bon Jovi and his followers.
