Madelaine Petsch and Gavin Casalegno are set to star in the upcoming young adult romance film Chasing Red, an adaptation of the popular Wattpad webnovel by Isabelle Ronin. Directed by Mackenzie Munro, the film brings to life a story that has captivated millions of readers online.

In this romantic tale, Petsch plays Veronica, a diligent student who is determined to resist the allure of college heartthrob Caleb, portrayed by Casalegno. The story has also been adapted into a Webtoon comic, which has amassed 24 million views, and has been published both as a print novel by Sourcebooks and a graphic novel by Webtoon Unscrolled.

Petsch is well-known for her role as Cheryl Blossom on the CW series Riverdale. She also produced and starred in the Amazon romantic comedy Maintenance Required alongside Jacob Scipio. Her filmography includes a role in Lionsgate’s reboot of The Strangers, with the third chapter set to release next year. Recently, she completed filming Killer Films’ Pretty Babies, directed by Tyler-Marie Evans.
