89 Graduates Celebrate Achievements at Schofield Barracks Ceremony
On December 17, 2025, a total of 89 graduates were honored during a commencement ceremony at Schofield Barracks in Wahiawa, Hawaii. This annual event celebrated the academic achievements of military personnel and their families, showcasing the importance of education within the armed forces.
The ceremony began with graduates marching into the main hall, a moment filled with pride and anticipation. Among those recognized was Ssgt. Rocelious Johnson, who received his certificate and was visibly pleased as he celebrated this milestone. The event was marked by a sense of community as fellow graduates supported each other, including Ssgt. Sean Conaway, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Intelligence, achieving Magna Cum Laude honors from American Military University.
Family members played a significant role in the celebration, as seen with Roiyale Davoren adjusting the lei of her husband, Sgt. Sanaj Davoren, prior to the ceremony. Sgt. Davoren completed an Associate Degree in Supply Chain Management, further emphasizing the diverse academic pursuits of the graduates.
Valuable Insights from Military Leadership
The commencement featured inspiring speeches from military leaders. U.S. Army Maj. Gen. James Bartholomees addressed the audience, sharing insights about the value of education and lifelong learning in the military community. His remarks were complemented by U.S. Army Col. Rachel Sullivan, who also highlighted the achievements of the graduates and the importance of their contributions to service.
As part of the ceremony, a traditional Hawaiian Ha’a dance was performed, adding cultural significance to the event and engaging all attendees. This performance reinforced the sense of unity among the graduates, their families, and the wider military community.
The celebration concluded with graduates embracing their loved ones, marking a new chapter in their lives. Sgt. Christina Helsham was among those sharing heartfelt moments with family and friends, encapsulating the joy and pride felt throughout the ceremony.
