Molly Ratermann’s ‘Making a Bridesmaid’ Wraps Production, Cast Revealed
URGENT UPDATE: Molly Ratermann’s highly anticipated directorial debut, “Making a Bridesmaid,” has officially wrapped post-production and is gearing up for a festival run in 2026. This feel-good comedy horror film is set against the backdrop of a twisted bachelorette weekend and promises to blend humor with thrilling suspense.
Shot on location in Lake Tahoe, California, the film brings a unique twist to the genre, drawing comparisons to “Bodies Bodies Bodies” and “Bridesmaids.” Ratermann not only directs but also stars in the film alongside a robust ensemble cast. The story follows two outcast sisters, played by Emily Kincaid and Ratermann, as they navigate a weekend filled with unexpected horror, forced to compete in a deadly game for bridesmaid spots.
The film is produced by 741 Films and Little Hand Productions, with an exciting cast that includes Serra Naiman, Wilder Yari, Alex Sgambati, and Maya Butler, among others. Notably, the editing team features Sabrina Plisco, President of the American Cinema Editors, marking her debut as a producer for this project.
Ratermann describes “Making a Bridesmaid” as a “wild, fun ride” that critiques the pressures of female identity and rivalry, while also addressing the need for solidarity among women. “I hope it sparks curiosity in men about the layers of female socialization, while giving women a chance to laugh—and maybe squirm a little—in recognition of their own experiences,” said Ratermann.
As the film reaches the picture-lock stage, details regarding its premiere and sales representation are expected to be announced soon. Fans of the genre are eagerly awaiting further updates as Ratermann and her team prepare to unveil this unique blend of comedy and horror.
Stay tuned for more developments on this exciting project that promises to entertain and provoke thought in equal measure. Share this news to keep your friends updated on the latest in film!
