Kudos Invests in Sex Education Producer’s Senti Films for New Projects
Kudos, the production company behind the acclaimed series Peaky Blinders, has announced an investment in Senti Films, an independent film company operated by Rem Conway, a producer known for his work on Sex Education. The financial details of the investment have not been disclosed, but both companies plan to collaborate on various upcoming projects.
Conway, who is also a development producer for Kudos Knight, the Birmingham-based branch of Kudos established by Steven Knight, will continue to manage Senti while maintaining his role at Kudos. This partnership aims to foster regional production in the West Midlands and promote local talent.
According to Banijay, the parent company of Kudos, Senti Films has already secured funding for a project with a major broadcaster, with additional ideas gaining traction. The investment from Kudos is characterized as a direct investment rather than a minority stake, indicating a strong commitment to Conway’s vision.
Conway expressed his enthusiasm for the new venture, stating, “Senti was built to offer a creative home to talent where they are genuinely trusted, backed and given the freedom to be ambitious.” He emphasized the importance of providing support to underrepresented voices in the industry, highlighting the need for inclusivity.
The producer’s notable credits include Riches and My Name is Leon, and he is actively developing a diverse slate that encompasses television, film, and theater. He previously collaborated with Kudos Knight on the adaptation of Nathan Queeley-Dennis’ Edinburgh play Bullring Techno Makeout Jamz.
Martin Haines, co-runner of Kudos, praised Conway as a “hugely talented producer” committed to developing the Kudos Knight slate. He expressed the company’s desire to support Conway’s creative ambitions while fostering growth in the region.
Kudos is currently in production for two new seasons of Peaky Blinders and is also behind projects like House of Guinness and SAS Rogue Heroes, all of which are created by Steven Knight. This investment in Senti Films marks a significant step towards enhancing the creative landscape in the West Midlands and beyond.
