Ease Live Enhances Champions League Experience on RTL+ Hungary
Ease Live has launched interactive graphical overlays for UEFA Champions League matches on RTL+ Hungary for the 2025-26 season. This initiative allows viewers to interact with live match statistics, player details, and other engaging content in real time, enhancing the football viewing experience for fans across digital platforms.
This rollout follows a successful deployment of Ease Live’s fan engagement technology during the EURO 2024 tournament on France’s M6+ streaming service. The collaboration with Bedrock, a European streaming technology firm, aims to create a more immersive viewing experience for Champions League football fans in Hungary.
Interactive Features and Rapid Deployment
With this new feature, fans watching matches on RTL+ Hungary can access information such as team line-ups, group standings, live polls, and more, all presented through graphical overlays. The interactive deployment is designed for various connected devices, including smart TVs, mobile phones, and web platforms, leveraging the efficient technology stack provided by Bedrock and Ease Live.
Kjetil Horneland, CEO of Ease Live, emphasized the significance of this rollout, stating, “Our seamless and rapid deployment with RTL+ Hungary demonstrates that we can go live across markets within weeks, a real breakthrough for large broadcast groups.” He added that the interactive overlays deliver tailored experiences catering to different demographics, notably appealing to Gen Z sports fans.
The technology allows overlays to function on top of existing over-the-top (OTT) infrastructure, drastically reducing development and deployment time from months to days. This innovation ensures frame-accurate synchronization with live streams, making interactive sports coverage widely accessible and monetizable across major platforms.
Proven Engagement and Future Prospects
According to Jonas Engwall, CEO of Bedrock, the technology has already shown significant results. “After deploying the M6+ interactive experience, we can now quickly replicate it in other markets, like Hungary, with consistent quality,” he stated. This capability accelerates innovation and improves viewer engagement with sports programming on RTL platforms.
Initial data reveals that interactive overlays have achieved up to 68% user engagement on live polls, while broadcasters utilizing Ease Live have experienced increases in viewing duration of more than 50%. These improvements contribute to the collection of first-party data insights and substantial revenue boosts through enhanced monetization strategies.
The launch in Hungary is part of a broader strategy to integrate interactive experiences across various sports properties. Ease Live’s SaaS platform now supports interactive features for notable organizations such as ATP, Gotham Sports Network (covering MLB, NHL, and NBA), Spain’s La Liga, and Servus TV, a subsidiary of Red Bull Media House.
As the landscape of sports broadcasting evolves, the collaboration between Ease Live and RTL+ Hungary showcases a commitment to enhancing viewer engagement through innovative technology, setting a new standard for interactive sports experiences.
