Dubai Chocolate Trend Surges in Bay Area with New Offerings
URGENT UPDATE: The Dubai chocolate phenomenon is taking the Bay Area by storm, with local shops and major brands embracing this delectable trend. Just announced, Starbucks is rolling out new Dubai chocolate confections, including lattes and pistachio foam treats, making this unique chocolate experience more accessible than ever.
The popularity of Dubai chocolate, known for its rich flavors and unique textures, continues to grow. Originating from Sarah Hamouda’s Fix Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai, this trend gained traction after viral TikTok videos captured its indulgent appeal. Now, Bay Area confectioners are eager to join the excitement, creating their own versions of these delicious treats.
At the forefront is San Jose Candy Kitchen, where owners Ajay and Falguni Patel launched their Dubai chocolate bars in August 2025. Their business has seen sales skyrocket, with 30 to 40 bars selling daily at $20 each. Ajay emphasizes the quality of their product, made from 80% pistachio cream compared to competitors that use fillers. “Customers tell me this is the best,” he states proudly.
In Pleasanton, Hanna’s Chocolates is also tapping into the trend, offering Dubai bonbons and mini bars starting at $8. Customers can visit the shop from noon to 6 p.m. on weekdays for a taste of these luxurious treats.
Fleur de Cocoa in Los Gatos is crafting its own version, featuring a dark chocolate bar with pistachios and kataifi. The shop is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, making it easy for chocolate lovers to indulge.
Meanwhile, LeVant Lebanese Bakery and Cafe in Menlo Park is adding a Middle Eastern twist with a chocolate-pistachio cheesecake and a white chocolate-fudge-pistachio log. Their doors are open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. most days, ensuring customers have ample opportunity to enjoy these decadent desserts.
Baker Brian Wood at Starter Bakery is adapting the trend with a unique take on the Dubai pastry, now known as the chocolate pistachio kouign amann. This innovative creation is available at both retail locations, open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
The mainstream market is also joining the Dubai chocolate craze. Notable brands like Ghirardelli, Lindt, and Russell Stover are introducing their own versions of “Dubai style” candies, making this trend even more widespread.
As the holiday season approaches, chocolate enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating a busy Valentine’s Day. “It will be crazy busy,” Falguni predicts, highlighting the soaring demand for Dubai chocolate.
With Dubai chocolate now appearing in popular locations like Starbucks, where customers can find new flavors and treats, this trend shows no signs of slowing down. Whether you are a newcomer or a devoted fan, the Bay Area is ready to satisfy your cravings with an array of delicious offerings.
Stay tuned as the Dubai chocolate trend continues to evolve—it’s a sweet journey that promises to delight taste buds across the region!
