Girls Bowling Stars Shine with Record Scores, Dec. 12-18

UPDATE: The N.J. girls bowling scene just witnessed an electrifying week as several standout performances were recorded from December 12-18. Senior Zaara Sadhwani of Holy Angels achieved the highest game of the season with a staggering 288 during a recent victory over Paterson Eastside. This remarkable feat not only highlights her skill but places her among the elite, as she also posted a three-game series score of 700.

In another thrilling display, Audrey Harding, a senior at Gloucester, rolled a high game of 268 and a series of 698 at the Olympic Conference Holiday Bowl, solidifying her position as a top competitor in the state. These performances are not just records; they represent the passion and dedication of young athletes striving for excellence on the lanes.

The week was packed with impressive showings from bowlers across various conferences. In the Big North Conference, Sadhwani’s outstanding average of 202 helped her team secure a strong start with a 4-0 record. In the Burlington County Scholastic League, Leticia Moreira led her team to a perfect 5-0 record, scoring a three-game set of 519 in a decisive victory against Camden Academy Charter.

The Greater Middlesex Conference saw Reyna Martinez of Colonia shine with a high game of 259 and a series of 672, driving her team to a 4-0 triumph over Sayreville. Meanwhile, in the Hudson County Interscholastic Athletic League, junior Shiloh Guanlao recorded season-highs with a high game of 224 and a series of 554, leading McNair to a fourth consecutive win.

In the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference, sophomore Brielle Battaglia rolled a personal-best high game of 168 and a series of 421, contributing significantly to Park Ridge’s success.

The competition intensified further in the Olympic Conference, where Tatum Walsh delivered a standout performance, achieving a three-game set of 570 at the Holiday Bowl. Her contributions helped Seneca improve to a 2-2 record this season.

Additionally, senior Addison Gerhard from Brick Township led her team to a solid victory with a high series of 670 against Central Regional, while Naylene Smart of South Hunterdon marked her best performance with a high game of 185.

As the season continues, the spotlight remains on these exceptional athletes. The next round of achievements will be recorded, with matches bowled on December 19 included in next week’s honors.
