San Jose Man Arrested for Ramming Food Truck with Pickup
URGENT UPDATE: A 27-year-old man from San Jose has been arrested after allegedly ramming his pickup truck into an occupied food truck multiple times, police confirmed. The incident occurred on August 18 at approximately 11:30 p.m., prompting immediate police response to the 2900 block of Monterey Road.
According to a press release from the San Jose Police Department, the suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism. Following the incident, he fled the scene but was apprehended on October 30 and subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
The dramatic collision involved the suspect driving his truck directly into the parked food vendor’s vehicle, where three employees were present. Fortunately, all staff members managed to escape without injuries. However, the damage to the food truck is estimated at $10,000.
A video captured during the incident shows the white pickup truck reversing and then crashing through a nearby seating area before colliding with the food truck. The shocking nature of this attack has raised significant concern within the community.
