Urgent Recall: 44,000 NordicTrack Rowers Linked to Fires
UPDATE: Over 44,000 NordicTrack RW900 rowing machines are being recalled due to a serious fire hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the urgent recall on October 16, 2025, after reports of overheating screens that can ignite. This alarming situation has already led to eight reported incidents, including two cases where machines caught fire.
Owners of the affected models, identified as NTRW19147.0 through NTRW19147.3, should take immediate action. The machines, sold between 2018 and 2022 through retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, have caused property damage estimated at over $6,000. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities have been reported.
As a precaution, NordicTrack, a subsidiary of iFIT Inc., is offering a free home repair service. However, it’s crucial to note that only trained technicians from NordicTrack can perform this repair. DIY fixes are not permitted. Customers are urged to contact NordicTrack either online or by calling 833-680-4348 to schedule their repair.
This recent recall is not the first time NordicTrack has faced scrutiny. In 2024, the company recalled a set of dumbbells that were designed to respond to voice commands but later malfunctioned. As issues continue to arise, the fitness equipment industry faces increasing pressure to ensure safety and reliability for consumers.
With fitness equipment becoming a staple in homes, the urgency of this recall cannot be overstated. If you own a NordicTrack RW900 rowing machine, check for the model number immediately and reach out to NordicTrack to secure your safety before further incidents occur.
Stay informed about this developing story, as further updates from NordicTrack and the Consumer Product Safety Commission are expected. Share this information to spread awareness and help others avoid potential dangers.
