A confrontation in a hotel parking lot in Newark, Delaware, led to the arrest of a Connecticut woman on December 5, 2023, after she allegedly pointed a rifle at three teenagers. The incident occurred around 20:00 at the Hilton located at 100 Continental Drive, where the juveniles were playing football.

According to the Delaware State Police, the teens were enjoying their game when a woman inside a paratransit van displayed what appeared to be a firearm in their direction. This prompted the juveniles to flee the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Authorities responded promptly to reports of the armed confrontation, locating the van in a nearby parking area shortly thereafter. The woman, identified as Rachel Dinorscia, aged 50, was taken into custody without incident. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a long rifle believed to have been used in the encounter, along with a second rifle and two handguns.

Dinorscia was transported to Troop 6 for processing and charged with multiple offenses, including possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, three counts of aggravated menacing, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Following her arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 11, she was committed to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a secured bond of $23,500.

All individuals arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This incident has raised concerns about safety in public spaces, especially involving firearms. The Delaware State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event.
