JD Vance Chooses Nicki Minaj Over Cardi B, Sparks Debate
The ongoing rivalry between prominent rappers Nicki Minaj and Cardi B took an unexpected turn when JD Vance, the Vice President of the United States, publicly declared his preference for Minaj. In a post on social media platform X on December 11, 2025, Vance stated simply, “Nicki>Cardi,” igniting conversations among fans and followers about the long-standing feud between the two artists.
The comment followed a now-deleted post from Minaj, who had earlier responded to Vance’s tweet with the phrase, “Vance > Rants.” Vance’s choice did not come with further explanation, leaving many to speculate on the implications of his preference. Notably, Cardi B has yet to publicly comment on Vance’s endorsement of her rival.
While Vance’s tweet has no direct impact on the ongoing conflict between Minaj and Cardi B, it has certainly reignited interest in their contentious history. The feud began in 2017 and has seen numerous public exchanges and social media battles since then. In September 2025, tensions flared again when Cardi B’s album, “Am I The Drama?”, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Minaj responded with a series of now-deleted tweets that appeared to question the authenticity of Cardi B’s sales figures, referencing a promotional price of $4.99 for the album.
Minaj’s comments were not limited to album sales. She went on to mock Cardi B by referencing her song “Magnet” and made disparaging remarks about the latter’s personal life. One particularly controversial tweet included a photoshopped image of Cardi B portrayed as “Barney Dangerous,” a twist on the beloved children’s character from “Barney & Friends.”
In retaliation, Cardi B fired back with her own tweets, labeling Minaj a “bored b****” and adding fuel to the fire of their ongoing dispute. Both artists have made their political stances clear, with Minaj expressing support for former President Donald Trump, while Cardi B has been a vocal critic of his administration.
Vance’s comments have not only reignited discussions about the feud between Minaj and Cardi B but have also highlighted the intersection of celebrity and politics in today’s media landscape. As the debate continues, fans remain divided over who reigns supreme in the rap world.
