Caregiver Choir Launches Holiday Charity Single of ‘Angels’
Visiting Angels, a prominent home care organization, has announced the release of a charity recording of Robbie Williams’ classic ballad “Angels.” The initiative involves caregivers from across the United Kingdom, who have come together to create a single that aims to serve as a unifying anthem for caregivers around the globe. The charity track was recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, renowned for its association with legendary artists such as The Beatles and Pink Floyd.
The project features nine caregivers, who collectively represent Visiting Angels and various other care organizations, performing as the HomeCare’s Got Talent Choir. The single is complemented by a music video that showcases behind-the-scenes footage from the recording session, filmed at the distinguished London studio.
Dan Archer, CEO of Visiting Angels UK and founder of HomeCare’s Got Talent, explained that the idea for the charity single emerged from the finale of this year’s talent competition. The choir aims to produce a holiday hit that encapsulates the daily commitment of caregivers. Participants traveled from various locations across the United Kingdom, collaborating with brands such as Caremark, Home Instead, Voyage Care, Mochridhe, Vitality Care, and Calon Lan Community Care.
The choir’s ambition is to surpass the original song’s chart success in the United States, aspiring to reach the coveted No. 1 spot during the festive season. The charity version of “Angels” became available on major streaming platforms on November 28.
Proceeds from the downloads will be directed towards the Alzheimer’s Association in the United States and the Care Workers’ Charity in the United Kingdom. The Alzheimer’s Association is recognized as the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. In contrast, the Care Workers’ Charity provides vital crisis assistance, mental health support, and advocacy for social care workers.
With its heartfelt message and collaborative spirit, the charity single aims to shine a light on the invaluable contributions of caregivers, especially during the holiday season. The initiative not only highlights the artistic talents of caregivers but also seeks to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and the challenges faced by care workers.
